As we approached the equator, heading north, we all went up to the bridge for a small celebration. The captain had his GPS display on a TV screen, and we all watched as it counted down and finally reached 0 degrees latitude. We crossed it again southbound in the middle of the night on our way to Isla Santiago (James).
