This was part of an exihibit on the history and culture of Libyan desert peoples. We had split up from the rest of the Travelquest tour members, but we bumped into some of them in this gallery, and one of them said their guide told them this child's skeleton is 54,000 years old and was found in a cave deep in the Sahara, in the southern part of Libya. There was no English sign to verify this, but
it could well be true. There were people living there then, and the desert would
certainly preserve their remains.
