A view of the hypostyle hall from the west,
showing how dramatic and symmetrical the columns are. The center of the
hall originally had a ceiling that was 82 feet high. As you can see, the
bulk of the crowds stay in the center with their guides. Our guide took
us through and then around other ways, and gave us a half hour to walk
around by ourselves. The hypostyle hall is breathtaking - a forest of
columns.
