A scan of the sheet of beautiful stamps that
the Libyan government issued that day. I bought two sheets in a vendor
stall at the eclipse camp. I used one for sending postcards, and kept the
other intact as a souvenir. The vendor stalls were on the way to the
Internet tent where the Libyan national phone company was providing free
high-speed wireless Internet access - 400 miles into the Sahara! After we
got back to Tripoli, one of the other tour members came up and told me
that she and her husband had seen me there in a TV report about the eclipse
on one of the Arabic stations. Cool!
