Obelisk outside Pantheon, Rome This Egyptian obelisk is in the Piazza della Rotonda, just in front of the Pantheon. It was originally erected at the Temple of Ra in Heliopolis by pharaoh Ramses II, and was moved several times before being placed here. I sometimes wonder if there are more ancient obelisks outside of Egypt than are still there.
