Bay of Naples from Mount Vesuvius
A wide view of the beautiful blue Bay of
Naples, showing several small cities that all merge together, leading
out to Sorrento and, beyond it on the far side of the peninsula, the
Amalfi Coast. After walking back down and catching the coach into
Pompei, we had a shower and a nap, were joined by the teenagers for a
very pleasant dinner in the hotel's garden, walked around the town square
in the dusk, ate lemon granita (made with enormous lemons), sipped wine
on the patio near our room, and finished with a very good night's sleep.
We really enjoyed staying in the town of Pompei. |
