[Note: Since I have so many photos of the ruins of Pompeii, there will be minimal description for most of them. There is a huge amount of information available online about Pompeii, including Street View in Google.]

Dale in the Pompeii amphitheatre. We went in the "back" entrance to the ruins right next to this, which is much less crowded than the main entrance and was also closer to our hotel. I highly recommend this strategy, as well as arriving when the ruins open for the day, which reduces the number of other people for a while and is also cooler.
